Graphic design in the 1960s focused on either monochrome or bright colours, geometric op art patterns with jaunty, flowing letterforms, which resulted in futuristic and fresh new graphics. It was a decade that covered a lot of ground culturally, socially, and was driven by the summer of love, hippies, psychedelia and the new music lead by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Velvet Underground.
The decade evolved with the permissive society, contraception, new drugs and blues inspired rock and roll. Each year left its imprint on the decade’s iconic and striking design styles. We have created a set of graphic props from the 1960s for you to choose from, to dress period sets and locations, or for a hero featured period prop.
